And they returned to their brethren in Saraa and Esthaol, who asked them what they had done? to whom they answered:
And when they came to their brethren at Zorah and Esh'ta-ol, their brethren said to them, |What do you report?|
So they came back to their brothers in Zorah and Eshtaol, and their brothers said to them, What news have you?
And they returned to their brothers at Zorah and Eshtaol, who questioned them as to what they had done. And they responded:

And they came unto their brethren to Zorah and Eshtaol,.... After they had well viewed the city, and made their remarks on the inhabitants of it, the condition and circumstances in which they were, and took notice of the goodness of the land about it, they returned to their brethren that sent them, particularly those that dwelt at the two places mentioned:
and their brethren said unto them, what say ye? what tidings do you bring? what account of the place and country where you have been?

On their return, the spies said to their fellow-citizens, in reply to the question אתּם מה, "What have you accomplished?" "Up, let us go up against them (the inhabitants of Laish), for the land is very good, and ye are silent," i.e., standing inactive (1-Kings 22:3; 2-Kings 7:9). "Be not slothful to go (to proceed thither), to come and take possession of the land!"
