*Minor differences ignored. Grouped by changes, with first version listed as example.
Jehozadak - The meaning of the name is "Jehovah is righteous." It has been noted as remarkable that the heads of both the priestly and the royal stock carried to Babylon should have had names (Zedekiah and Jehozadak) composed of the same elements, and assertive of the "justice of God," which their sufferings showed forth so signally.
And (c) Jehozadak went [into captivity], when the LORD carried away Judah and Jerusalem by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.
(c) That is, he was led into captivity with his father Seraiah the high priest, (2-Kings 25:18).
(5:41). Jehozadak is the father of Joshua who returned from exile with Zerubbabel, and was the first high priest in the restored community (Ezra 3:2; Ezra 5:2; Haggai 1:1). After הלך, "he went forth," בּגּולה is to be supplied from וגו בּהגלות, "he went into exile" to Babylon; cf. Jeremiah 49:3.
