23 There was a gate to the inner court over against the (other) gate, (both) on the north and on the east; and he measured from gate to gate one hundred cubits.

And the gate of the inward court was over against the gate toward the north, and toward the east,.... Or, "and as to the east" (h); that is, the north gate of the inner court was directly opposite to the north gate of the outward court; just as the eastern gate of the inward court was in a straight line opposite to the eastern gate of the outward court:
and he measured from gate to gate an hundred cubits; from the north gate of the outward court to the north gate of the inward court; and it was exactly of the same distance from one another as on the left side; see Ezekiel 40:19.

and toward the east--an elliptical expression for "The gate of the inner court was over against the (outer) gate toward the north (just as the inner gate was over against the outer gate) toward the east."
Toward the east - The east gate of the inner court was directly over against the east gate of the outer court, and equally distant from each other.
