Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will even do according to thine anger, and according to thine envy which thou hast used out of thy hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I have judged thee.

For this cause, by my life, says the Lord, I will do to you as you have done in your wrath and in your envy, which you have made clear in your hate for them; and I will make clear to you who I am when you are judged by me.

Because of this, as I live, says the Lord God, I will act in accord with your own wrath, and in accord with your own zeal, by which you have acted with hatred toward them. And I will be made known by them, when I will have judged you.

Therefore, [as] I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will even do according to thy (g) anger, and according to thy envy which thou hast used out of thy hatred against them; and I will make myself known among (h) them, when I have judged thee.
(g) As you have done cruelly, so will you be cruelly handled.
(h) Showing that when God punishes the enemies, the godly ought to consider that he has a care over them and so praise his name: and also that the wicked rage as though there were no God, till they feel his hand to their destruction.

Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord,.... An oath, as before in Ezekiel 35:6,
I will do according to thine anger, and according to thine envy which thou hast used out of thy hatred against them: as thou hast been angry with them, and hated them, and done mischief to them, so will I be angry with thee, and hate thee, and inflict punishment on thee; I will retaliate all the anger, envy, and hatred showed unto my people, and punish thee according to thy just demerits. So the Romish antichrist shall be dealt with; he who has led into captivity shall go into it, and he that has killed with the sword shall be killed by it. Babylon shall be rewarded double, as she has rewarded, others, Revelation 13:10.
And I will make myself known among them, when I have judged thee; the Targum is,
"and I will reveal myself to do good unto them, when I shall have taken vengeance on thee:''
after the destruction of antichrist, the knowledge of God, and of Christ, will be spread among Jews and Gentiles, even all the world over, so universally, so clearly and distinctly, as never was before, Daniel 12:4.

according to thine anger-- (James 2:13). As thou in anger and envy hast injured them, so I will injure thee.
I will make myself known among them--namely, the Israelites. I will manifest My favor to them, after I have punished thee.

Judged - Punished thee.
